Dear Patch Editor chi-an chang...and anyone else who cares,
I find it so frustrating and annoying that Patch.com finds it necessary to bombard and infiltrate my news reading with those constant and annoying POP-UPS that slide across my screen.
Although I have pop ups "blocked," your genius web designers have found a way to circumvent the settings.
In the five minutes I have sat here attempting a relaxing news read, there have been 5 POP-UPS that come across my screen, blocking the content I am reading, and forcing me to divert my attention to close it out!
Your POP-UPS don't even generate revenue. They are merely pieces of redundant and obsolete news. (i.e. " October maps of crimes in Libertyville")..this one 4 mos old....that just alienate the reader.
I wrote you a year ago about this and you responded that you would advise your page designers......obviously to no resolve.
I would be a much happier and loyal reader if you could just eliminate those damn POP-UPS!
I sent an e-mail to my sales rep last month canceling my ad. I was not able to see any of my ads, and after speaking to 3 others they cannot see my ad either. The only way I can see my ad is by taking down my firewall. Also, the ad I signed up for was no longer available. I agreed to try the banner ad. Since the only way to see the ad is to take down a fire wall, my ad is invisable. I was billed for the ad a month after I cancelled it. My calls to my sales rep go unanswered. I will be sending this info to my legal council and if I am billed again next month I will be filing credit card fraud charges against your organization. Paul Chesler, Blud Diamond Pet Waste Clean-Up Service. A response would be appreciated. info@pooperguy.com
I have been trying for several weeks to get charges reversed for banner advertising that I agreed to (new company and very tight start up budget, so every little bit spent REALLY matters to me)- the banner ended up being NOT what I agreed to - oops, they had already filled my spot, so they tossed me elsewhere. I wanted no part of that, but no one cares once they get your money. I have tried for weeks to cancel the remaining months, yet I'm STILL being charged - and I get no responses to my emails except 'oh, I dont handle this but will try to give it to someone that does...' Seriously? I will NEVER promote Patch to any locals that frequent my store - please, can you help me resolve this???? Patty Henning, owner, Fabulous Finishes, Shelby Twp, Mi

We get the Brookfield Patch - CT (have a house there), but our main residence is in Manhattan. Is there a Patch for Manhattan or New York City? We have 2 large pieces of furniture to sell and want to list them.
Thanks,

Warren, great publication however in our little town of Geneva one of your columnist has made a personal attach on the president of the chamber of commerece. It is unfounded and frankly does not align with your goals, specifically a trusted news source. I have asked the local editor if the comment is acceptable to him with no response orther than to remove my question initially from his personal board. Brian has had the question for a day now without response either. I think it is a valid question that desreves an answer. Your thoughts?
Hi Warren, there is not a Patch in a few of the communities I live near and was wondering how does one go about getting a Patch publication for them? I am interested in how I could possibly start one but I have no ideal if that is even possible. Can you tell me how I would go about that? Thank you.
New to Patch but for sure thank you for your vision.

Kudos to you and your “boots on the ground” team here in Maryland for your thorough and touching reporting on the tragic line duty death of Lutherville Volunteer Fire Company member Mark Falkenhan. (7-8 great pieces)
It is clear your guys poured their hearts into this. A heartfelt thanks to all, especially Ron Snyder - his work on this was deep and moving.
Going forward, I’d love to speak with your partnership/community/give5/ and/or foundation team about ways we (Lutherville Vol. Fire Company & Patch) can help each other.
Our outreach priority (I’m outreach) is helping the community understand:
a) who we are (100% volunteer, professional)
b) what we do (prevent and if not prevented, respond, then mitigate, then recover from hazards of any kind so that loss of lives and property can be minimized)
c) our unique “business model” (volunteer, self-funded with operational roles nearly identical to and 100% integrated with the paid FD), &
d) what we need (Firefighters, Advisory Board members, administrative support, in-kind contributions and of course – cash).
Given these priorities do you think we might be able to help each other and if so, with whom should I speak?
Thank you,

Thanks for the note, Warren! I've had a blast covering Malden, and the city has been so receptive and excited about Patch. It's been a great experience.
Santa Monica, CA loves PATCH.com. So very green and the feedback is so positive. Thanks for the vision. I am assured this community in CA will be so receptive - great idea and thanks for letting me sell and present the value here. Best! Jeannine from CA
Hi Warren, I'm a reporter for the Cranston Patch and I just wanted to tell you I think you are doing a heck of a job! Let's hope for 100 more years of Patch.com!
Hi Warren Webster, welcome to our Ridgewood and many other towns. Notice you are a gratuate of St. University, Caton NY. My deceased wife (52 yrss) Mary also lived in Canton and walked to classes at St. Lawrence. We attended her Sixty Year class reunion and had a great time singing with the Laurentian singers and at the Barbeque in the Skating Rink. Lots of nostalgia from this 89 year old writer of sorts.
I just wanted to give you a shout out - I just sent in an application to Patch. I'm on the Cape - I see you used to spend some time on the islands in a prior life. My DH is actually a captain on a large yacht that's based out of Boston.
I love the idea of Patch and love that its backed by AOL. I'd love a shot to develop the Cape & Islands towns.

The Fairlawn, OH patch is being advertised and linked on LinkedIn.com incorrectly. That patch leads one to Fair Lawn, NJ.
Fairlawn, OH is a suburb of Akron, which is clustered in an area we call Northeast Ohio (Cleveland+).
I'm curious who is responsible for your local coverage, as something as basic as the proper spelling of a city is rather key to your company.
Regards,
