Emergency Response At LAX: Electronic Issue Triggers Landing Scare

LOS ANGELES, CA — An Air Canada Flight with a possible electronics malfunction prompted an emergency response at Los Angeles International Airport Monday afternoon.

The Los Angeles Fire Department was called to be on standby along LAX's Runway 6 for Flight 787 out of Toronto shortly before 4 p.m. Monday, said LAFD spokeswoman Lyndsey Lantz.

The Air Canada plane experiences some sort of avionics issue, she said.

"They are down safely," she added.

The plane safely touched down as of 4:08.

Air Canada did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
