πŸ“° Here are the top stories today in Grand Junction:

  1. A juvenile died on 30 Road near B 1/2 Road on Tuesday evening. Reportedly, a pickup truck, also driven by a juvenile, hit the pedestrian. Because of the ages, the Colorado State Patrol won’t release the identities of those involved. (NBC)
  2. Who fired shots near Las Colonias Park’s pedestrian bridge early Wednesday morning? The Grand Junction Police Department responded to calls, met two men and a woman, and learned that the men got into a scuffle that ended in a gunshot. β€œNo criminal charges have been filed at this time.” (Western Slope Now)
  3. Zuni Drive Shooting Update: Earlier, we talked about a woman who was hit by gunshots in the 300 block of Zuni Drive. The police arrested a 41-year-old man who already had three existing warrants. New charges filed include β€œfirst-degree kidnapping, first degree burglary, and violation of a protection order.” (NBC)
  4. Jeff Kuhr Update: The saga involving the embattled Mesa County public health executive director continues. Kuhr’s attorney has put the newly appointed public health board on notice of an intention to sue if the members vote to terminate Kuhr. In a letter, the attorney further demanded that β€œthe new board members, including Mesa County Commissioner Janet Rowland, recuse themselves from any such action.” However, the board placed Kuhr on paid administrative leave. (The Daily Sentinel/paywall, 2)
  5. Florida’s Ed Morse Automotive Group now owns Grand Junction Harley-Davidson and Grand Junction Powersports. The businesses will be rebranded to add β€œTeddy Morse” to their names. No other changes to the companies were announced. At this point, Morse has β€œ43 dealerships, 80 franchises, and 30 automotive and motorcycle brands.” (yahoo! Finance)
