Avon Scout's Christmas Tree/Wreath Sale Starts On 'Black Friday'

The event on Route 44 is Avon Boy Scout Troop 274's largest fundraiser.

AVON, CT — Once Thanksgiving is over, attention turns to preparing the home for Christmas and a group of Avon Boy Scouts are looking to assist.

Starting Friday, Nov. 29, Avon Boy Scout Troop 274 will conduct its annual Christmas Tree and Wreath Sale at J. Foster Ice Cream, located on Route 44 in Avon.

The troop's largest fundraiser of the year, the sale starts on "Black Friday" and continues throughout December while the inventory lasts.

It will be open on Thursdays from 4 to 7 p.m.; Fridays from 3 to 8 p.m.; and Saturdays/Sundays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

If you can't make those hours, the Boy Scouts can still help. Just email scoutmaster@avontroop274.org and they will make the necessary arrangements.

Among the inventory are 6- to 12-foot trees along with 16-inch and 20-inch wreaths.
