Cheapest Gas Near Me: How To Pay Less At The Pump Near Bethel

BETHEL, CT — Whether due to crude oil reserves mismanagement stateside or shenanigans abroad, motorists are drawing upon a dwindling supply of domestic gasoline. That supply-and-demand math has pushed up national prices more than a dime, according to AAA Northeast.
On Tuesday, the average price for a gallon of regular in the U.S. hit $3.92.
You may think you have it rough at the pump in Bethel — and make no mistake, you do — but local gas prices are lower than the statewide average of $3.45 on Tuesday, and also below the Fairfield County average of $3.53.

There may not be much to be nostalgic for in 2021, but gas prices are on the list. A year ago, Connecticut residents paid on the average 13 cents less on the gallon.

According to GasBuddy, the cheapest gas in Bethel is selling for $3.25 per gallon at CITGO at 77 Greenwood Avenue. At the CITGO located at 295 Greenwood Avenue, you'll pay $3.39 a gallon, and gas will cost you $3.49 a gallon at the Shell station at 202 Greenwood.
At $6.29, California holds the nation’s highest price for a gallon of self-serve regular. Connecticut, on the other hand, is holding steady at the 42nd spot on the list of highest gas prices in the nation. "In past years, we’ve been in or near the top 10," said Fran Mayko, AAA Northeast spokeswoman.
In addition, higher West Coast prices are also contributing to the national average's spike. As more California refineries go back online after undergoing maintenance and the national switch to cheaper winter blends take effect, the trend may reverse, Mayko said.
