Ellington To Celebrate The Season At Annual Winterfest

Ellington's Winterfest brings free family holiday fun with concerts, markets, crafts, Santa, tree lighting, Torchlight Parade & more!

Ellington’s Winterfest is back, promising a festive weekend of fun from Friday, December 6th, through Sunday, December 8th. With free activities ranging from concerts and markets to crafts and tree lighting, there’s something to get everyone in the holiday spirit!

Friday, December 6th

Ellington Singers Holiday Concert and Sing-Along
Time: 7:00 PM
Location: Ellington Senior Center 40 Maple St.
Join the Ellington Singers for a night of holiday melodies and community singing to kick off Winterfest.

Opening Knights Players Present Christmas in Pinetree Corners
Time: 7:30 PM
Location: Ellington High School Auditorium.
Enjoy a festive theatrical performance by Ellington High School’s Opening Knights Players. Encore Performances: Saturday, December 7th at 7:30 PM and Sunday, December 8th at 2:00 PM.

Saturday, December 7th

Ellington Farmers' Market Winterfest Market
Time: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Location: Ellington High School 37 Maple St.

Discover the perfect holiday gifts and treats at this bustling market, featuring 40 vendors with farm-fresh goods, specialty foods, and handmade crafts.

Holiday Marketplace at the Nellie McKnight Museum
Time: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM.
Location: 70 Main St.
Browse unique gifts while enjoying the historic charm of the Nellie McKnight Museum. Starting at 3:00 PM, warm up by the bonfire with hot chocolate, adult beverages, and cookies while touring the 1812 House Museum. The Chick-fil-A food truck will also be on-site for lunch and dinner.

Hall Memorial Library Activities
Time: 10 AM to 7 PM
Holiday Ornament Workshops: 10:00 AM (Registration required via Library website)
Additional Activities (5:00 - 7:00 PM): Musical performances, crafts for kids, Letters to Santa writing station, and seasonal refreshments.

Ellington Congregational Church Events
Gingerbread House Contest Viewing: 2:00 - 6:30 PM
Bells and Musical Program: 3:30 - 4:00 PM
Winterfest Café: 4:00 - 6:30 PMBring the entire family for a meal and music while admiring creative gingerbread house entries.

Tree Lighting on the Green
Time: 4:00 PM
Location: Ellington Town Green
Santa, Mrs. Claus, and their helpers will light the town tree, accompanied by musical performances by the Ellington High School A Cappella Choir and the Ellington Brass Band.

Torchlight Parade
Time: 5:15 PM
Location: Main St. Ellington
The famous Torch Light Parade will light Main Street with brightly colored vehicles, bringing joy and excitement to spectators of all ages. This dazzling display is a must-see highlight of the Winterfest celebration.

Nativity Festival
Time: 5:30 - 8:00 PM
Location: Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 2 Maple St.
Experience the season's magic with a Nativity Festival, including a live Nativity presentation, refreshments, and music.
