Party Affiliation:
Democrat

Occupation:
Lawyer for 45 years

Family:
I am married to Kristine Stahly and we have three adult children, Elizabeth, Jeremy and Michael

Does anyone in your family work in politics or government?
No

Previous public office, appointive or elective:
I have served on the Greenwich Board of Estimate and Taxation since 2022.

Why are you seeking this office?
I have lived in Old Greenwich for 32 years. My wife and I raised our children here. I believe my knowledge of Greenwich, my professional experience as a lawyer, and my two terms on the BET, make me a valuable member of that body.

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:
The Republican BET has used its tie-breaking vote to impose budgets that frustrate and infuriate the community. If Democrats win the chair of the BET, we will respect our constituents in enacting budgets.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
While I am aligned with the other Democratic candidates on the slate, I am the only lawyer.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Development of a prudent long-term capital plan that protects the Town's assets and is prepared for future challenges.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
In addition to my professional experience and two terms on the BET, I have served on boards, raised funds for non-profits, and been active in the community.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Measure twice, cut once. Don't jump to rash conclusions.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
Please vote Row A for all 6 BET Democrats.
