"Offering quality ingredients and deliciously unique toppings, our signature Detroit-style pizza is marked by its square shape, crispy bottom, fluffy dough, cheesy 'frico' crust, and signature sauce stripes," Emmy Squared says on its website.
The pizza is described as a combination of a New York-style grandma pie with a Detroit-style pizza. The crust is a fluffy-like focaccia-like dough. The "frico" crust is a caramelized, crispy cheese crust that lines the outer edges and sides of the pie.
But the menu is more than just Detroit-style pizza. There are shareable plates ranging from chicken wings to mozzarella sticks, to go along with salads, sandwiches and burgers.
Notably, the famed double-stack burger, the "Le Big Matt," was voted one of "The Best New Burgers In NYC" by Gothamist, and listed as one of the "20 Best Burgers in NYC" by The Infatuation.
It was also named the No. 1 best burger in Nashville, Tenn. by The Tennessean and Nashville Lifestyles.
The Le Big Matt burger features a half-pound of double stack of Braveheart grass fed, black angus beef - a blend of chuck, brisket and short rib, topped with American cheese, signature "sammy sauce," greens and pickles, served at medium temperature on a toasted pretzel bun with waffle fries.
There are a variety of cocktails, wine and beer offerings, too.
"Gaining critical claim and an ever-growing cult following, we have expanded the Emmy Squared brand with 24 locations across New York City, Nashville, Philadelphia, Washington DC, and Louisville and plans to expand nationally," Emmy Squared says on its website. "In every neighborhood we join, our team is committed to contributing to the community and practice our company ethos of inclusivity and unparalleled hospitality."
The Greenwich location will mark Emmy Squared's second outpost in Connecticut.
A location opened up in Westport in 2023.
