HAMDEN, CT — The 10th seeded Hamden girls basketball team advanced to the CIAC Division I semifinals with a thrilling 52-51 victory over No. 2 New Britian in the quarterfinals on Thursday at New Britain High School.

With the win, the Green Dragons will take on third-seeded Greenwich in the semifinals at a date and time to be determined.

Hamden advanced to the quarterfinals with a 65-52 second-round victory over seventh-seeded Southington on March 9 at Southington High School.
