NEW HAVEN, CT — A Southbury woman was charged after cops were called to Tweed New Haven Airport late Sunday afternoon for an "issue with multiple intoxicated people inside the terminal." Police said the group "dispersed," but Kristen Powers, 44, remained.
Police said Powers was "advised multiple times that the airline was not allowing her to fly due to her level of intoxication and that she had to leave the premises."
"Powers was belligerent and argumentative, so officers told her to arrange for a ride," according to the police report.

"A short time later, officers were called back into the building due to Powers’ continuing behavior," police spokesperson Officer Christian Bruckhart said. "Officers and Tweed staff attempted to deescalate the situation and convince Powers to leave, warning her that if she did not, she would be arrested."
But, Bruckhart said that Powers "continued to be argumentative and told officers, 'arrest me' and 'place me under arrest.'

She was arrested.
In a Sunday email to Avports, Tweed New Haven Airport operator, spokesperson Andrew King told Patch that Powers "was denied boarding on Avelo Airlines flight VXP466 to Tampa at Tweed New Haven Airport due to intoxication and disruptive behavior."
"New Haven Police Department responded and, after the passenger refused to comply with repeated requests to leave, placed her under arrest," King said. "The flight proceeded without further disruption."
Powers was taken into custody and charged with first-degree criminal trespass and disorderly conduct.
