New McDonald's Restaurant Now Open In Shelton

A new McDonald's restaurant is officially open in Shelton more than a year after plans for the restaurant were first submitted to the city.

SHELTON, CT — A long-anticipated McDonald's restaurant officially opened this week in Shelton more than a year after plans for the business were first submitted to the city.

A company spokesperson confirmed this week to Patch the new McDonald's restaurant opened for business Tuesday at 6 Todd Road.

The opening officially marks the end of a process that began back in December 2023 when plans for the new fast food restaurant were first submitted to the city by Avon-based Six Todd Road LLC.

The plans called for construction of a 3,690-square-foot single restaurant with a two-lane drive thru and 37 parking spaces.

The project was discussed and modified a number of times by the city's Planning and Zoning Commission over several months, which ultimately ended in a 5-1 vote of approval by the commission in May 2024.

The Shelton restaurant has not been listed on the McDonald's website yet as of Thursday afternoon.

The popular fast food chain recently introduced a number of exciting menu items and promotions in celebration of the summer, including the celebrated return of its popular snack wraps. The beloved menu item, first introduced to McDonald's menus in 2006, will is set to return to restaurants July 10.

In June, McDonald's also introduced a new Hershey's S'mores McFlurry made with the chain's classic vanilla soft serve and blended with Hershey's milk chocolate, graham crackers and marshmallows.
