The coffee spot says it is getting close to opening in South Windsor as inspections are completed.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A new coffee shop and bookstore planned for Sullivan Avenue is getting close to opening its doors.

The Wicked Press, a coffee shop and book-themed retail concept at 948 Sullivan Ave., said this week it is nearing its grand opening as final inspections with the town and health department are completed.

Patch previously reported that owner Alyssa Smith was planning to bring the concept to South Windsor, combining specialty coffee with books and book-themed retail in a cozy setting.

Assistant Manager Cheyenne Protz said in an email that the shop is targeting a mid-March opening, though the exact grand opening date has not yet been publicly announced.

The Wicked Press plans to offer specialty coffee and tea, shelves of books, and themed merchandise including candles and its “Blind Date with a Book” selections.

The space is also designed with what the owners describe as “moody, comfy reading nooks,” aimed at creating a place where customers can relax with a drink and a book.

“Our goal was simple: create the kind of place where someone can curl up with a book, sip something delicious, and feel like they’ve found their new favorite cozy corner,” Protz said.

The shop will be located at 948 Sullivan Ave. in South Windsor. The grand opening date will be announced once final inspections are completed.
