5 Displaced After Windsor House Fire On LePage Road
Five people were displaced after the fire, which remains under investigation by the Windsor Fire Marshal's Office.
WINDSOR, CT — Firefighters extinguished a structure fire Friday morning at a home on LePage Road after smoke was reported coming from a garage, according to the Windsor Fire Department.
Windsor Public Safety Dispatch received the report at 10:07 a.m. at 36 LePage Rd., a residential building located off East Wolcott Avenue near Roger Wolcott School.
The first arriving fire officer reported smoke coming from the garage and declared a working fire. All occupants were out of the building and accounted for, though responders were told pets remained inside the home.

Firefighters made entry, extinguished the fire in a breezeway, and conducted a search of the residence.
Crews were able to remove a pet iguana from the home, but a dog was found deceased.

The fire was brought under control without injuries to residents or firefighters, officials said.
All Windsor fire companies responded to the scene along with Windsor EMS and the Windsor Police Department. Blue Hills firefighters were also called to the scene, while South Windsor and Windsor Locks covered the town during the incident.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Windsor Fire Marshal’s Office.
Five people were displaced and are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
