Accused Gunman Turns Himself In After 2 Shot In Aurora: Police
The 24-year-old suspect turned himself in after a nearly 24-hour-long search, according to Aurora police.

AURORA, IL — The Aurora man wanted in connection with a shooting that wounded two people early Sunday turned himself in after an almost-24-hour-long search, officials said.
"[Aaron] Conley has been taken into custody after turning himself in," Aurora police said in an update at 5:55 a.m. Monday.
Conley arrived at the Aurora Police Department with family members at about 3 a.m., police said. He is being charged with the following:

- Attempted first-degree murder (two counts)
- Aggravated battery with a firearm (two counts)
- Unlawful possession of firearm by repeat felony offender (one count)
- Unlawful possession of firearm by a felon (one count)
The shooting occurred at about 6:08 a.m. Sunday in the 500 block of Station Boulevard. Officers responded to find two men suffering from gunshot wounds near a basketball court. A 20-year-old in critical condition and a 19-year-old with non-life-threatening injuries were taken to local hospitals, Patch reported. Their conditions remains the same as of Monday, police said.
The preliminary investigation suggests the shooting "was an isolated incident between known acquaintances," police said.

Police said 24-year-old Conley, of Aurora, fled after the shooting, leaving a firearm at the scene and prompting officers to advise nearby residents to stay inside and the public to avoid the area.
The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing. Officials are asking anyone with information to contact the Aurora Police Department’s Investigations Division at 630-256-5500.
