Search Warrant Uncovers Cocaine, Cash And Stolen Guns: Aurora PD
Two men, one a documented gang member, were charged after police found cocaine, cash and guns in their residences, officials said.

AURORA, IL — Two men were taken into custody after Aurora police recovered cocaine, guns and cash in a search warrant executed earlier in September, officials said Wednesday.
Aurora Police Special Operations Group investigators served two search warrants on Sept. 10 and Sept. 17 to Kevin A. Thomas-Cox and Osbaldo Moreno-Izeta, respectively, following a months-long narcotics investigation.
Police went to a residence in the 100 block of Warren Avenue at 7:47 p.m. Sept. 10, uncovering 7.3 grams of crack cocaine, $5,660 in cash, two digital scales, and a stolen Arex Slovenia Delta 9mm pistol with a green laser, according to a news release.

The 30-year-old Thomas-Cox, of Aurora, was taken into custody without incident and charged with the following felonies:
- Manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance – Cocaine, 1 to 15 grams
- Possession of a controlled substance – other drug
- Possession of a firearm without a valid FOID card

A week later, at 6:15 p.m. Sept. 17, investigators served another warrant at a residence in the 600 block of West Galena Boulevard. Inside, officers found 3.4 grams of cocaine, a digital scale, drug packaging, a Springfield Armory 9mm handgun, a Smith and Wesson .40 caliber handgun, an extended magazine and several rounds of ammunition, officials said.

Moreno-Izeta, a 32-year-old documented gang member, was arrested and charged with these felonies:
- Armed violence – Category I weapon
- Manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance – Cocaine, 1 to 15 grams (
- Three counts of felon in possession of a weapon
- Two counts of possession of a firearm without a valid FOID card
- Possession of a controlled substance – Other drug
Both cases remain under investigation, police said, asking anyone with information to call the Aurora Police Department's investigations division at 630-256-5500.
