It's not only the best place to live in Kendall County, but also in Illinois, according to Niche's rankings.

OSWEGO, IL — Deciding where the best place is to put down roots is not an easy task. In Kendall County, Oswego earned the title of "No. 1 Best Places to Live" from Niche.
Oswego is not only the best place to live in Kendall County, but also in Illinois, Niche said. The village, neighbored by Montgomery, Yorkville and Plainfield, is described as "sparse suburban," where 88 percent of residents own their homes, which have a median value of $319,00.
Oswego scored highly on the ranking and review platform's report card, receiving As and A-minuses for being good for families and its public schools, jobs, outdoor activities and diversity. Housing, cost of living, crime and safety, health and fitness, and commute received varying B grades. Weather received the lowest grade, at C-plus.

"This recognition reflects the strength and support of our community," the village wrote on Facebook. "Thank you to everyone who helps make Oswego a great place to call home!"
Compared to 362 other Illinois towns, Oswego ranked 118th for "most diverse suburbs," 122nd for "best suburbs to raise a family," and 126th for "best suburbs to live."
