DuPage Honors School Leaders During National Principals Month
Regional Office of Education Supports New Principals Through Mentorship

The DuPage Regional Office of Education (ROE) proudly joins the statewide celebration of National Principals Month this October, recognizing the vital leadership and lasting impact of principals across DuPage County’s 42 public school districts.
Amber Quirk, Regional Superintendent of Schools, said principals play a pivotal role in shaping school culture and student success—leading with vision, fostering inclusive learning environments, and ensuring every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
“Principals are a driving force behind school success,” said Quirk. “Their guidance not only inspires educators but also strengthens the systems that support student growth and well-being. In DuPage County, we are fortunate to have principals who lead with integrity, empathy, and an unwavering belief in every learner’s potential.”

Sharon Wysoglad, Director of Organizational Leadership for Continuous School Improvement, highlighted the ROE’s commitment to developing the next generation of school leaders. The DuPage ROE is one of only three entities statewide—supported by ISBE funding—selected to deliver the New Principal Mentoring Program across Illinois.
“In 2025–2026, we are proud to support 36 new principals through mentorship provided by experienced and respected practitioners,” Wysoglad said. She added that through the ROE’s grant-funded Learning While Leading and Partners to Lead initiatives, the organization continues to strengthen the professional capacity of both aspiring and current principals.

“Our work allows us to witness firsthand the dedication, resilience, and innovation of today’s school leaders,” Wysoglad noted. “These individuals inspire collaboration, elevate instructional practice, and create the equitable learning environments our students deserve.”
Dr. Vickie Trotter, Assistant Regional Superintendent of DuPage Schools, agreed with Quirk and Wysoglad and encouraged the community to recognize the essential role of principals.
“Behind every thriving school is a principal who believes in people — who listens, leads with heart, and brings out the best in students and staff alike,” said Trotter. “The work of principals extends far beyond administration; it’s about shaping lives and sustaining hope. Let’s continue to recognize and thank them not just in October, but every day.
