"All students and staff are safe, accounted for and remaining in their classrooms while police secure the building," school officials said on social media shortly after the lockdown was put in place. "At no point was there an ongoing threat to students or staff, and normal operations were restored once it was determined the campus was secure."
Later on Thursday, school officials said that the incident involved a pocket knife and "was quickly contained." The student will face consequences on behalf of the school district.
