ELLICOTT CITY, MD — Hair loss disheartens many people, whether it's from chemotherapy, alopecia or simply age-related thinning.

In fact, hair loss can make some people so self conscious that they don't want to go out in public.

Lauren Ashtyn experienced hair loss herself and after searching for the best solution, decided to create the answer to her own problem.

"Our clients are women who want a hair transformation and a boost of confidence. Some are simply looking for more volume, length or a fresh look without committing to permanent extensions," Ashtyn told Patch.

She said clients flock to the mobile pop-ups because they’re experiencing hair thinning or hair loss due to things like:

"What they all share is the desire to feel like themselves again when they look in the mirror. Our goal is to provide natural-looking hair solutions that help women feel confident the moment they put them on. Over the years, we’ve helped more than 30,000 women through our salons, pop-ups and consultations," Ashtyn said.

The Lauren Ashtyn Collection, a luxury hair brand making waves on Beauty TikTok, will bring its live transformation tour to Howard County later this month.

"Hair loss is such a personal experience, and for many women, it helps to see, touch and try pieces on with a stylist before making a decision. Our pop-ups allow us to bring that full salon experience directly to different cities instead of asking clients to travel across the country. We partner with local salons and recreate the full Lauren Ashtyn experience there so women can receive personalized service in a professional salon setting," Ashytn told Patch.

The mobile pop-up allows clients to experience things that are difficult to replicate online, including:

  • One-on-one consultations with trained stylists
  • Trying on multiple toppers or wigs to see what feels right
  • Custom color matching and hair analysis
  • Professional cutting and styling so the piece blends naturally

"The event essentially turns a local salon into a full Lauren Ashtyn Collection experience for the weekend. Clients book an appointment and meet one-on-one with our stylists. During their session they can try on different toppers or wigs, get professionally color-matched, and have the piece cut and styled so it blends naturally with their own hair. Many women walk out the same day with a full transformation with hair that looks and feels like their own," Ashtyn added.

Their mobile pop-up will pull into Ellicott City April 25-26 at an event hosted at 10Three Beauty Lab, 8001 Hillsborough Rd.

"We choose cities based on where we see strong demand from our clients. Columbia is a great location because it’s easy to reach from Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and surrounding areas, so many women in the Mid-Atlantic region can attend without having to travel far. We’ve had a lot of interest from clients in this region, so it made sense to bring the experience closer to them," Ashtyn told Patch.

Clients can reserve their appointment directly through The Lauren Ashtyn Collection website. The pop-ups are ticketed events, so each guest has a dedicated consultation time with the team.
