Concord Police Investigating Criminal Threat And Mischief Incidents At Homeless Camp On Route 106
Witnesses reported a suspect threatened a man about owed money while holding a knife early Saturday morning and then fled the scene later.
CONCORD, NH — Concord police are investigating threat and criminal mischief incidents at the massive homeless camp at the intersection of Sheep Davis Road and Loudon Road early Saturday morning.
Around 12:30 a.m., several officers were sent to the camp for a report of a threat involving a knife and a baseball bat. A caller reported the dispute involved $3 and that one person owed another, dispatch said. During the incident, a bike was reportedly thrown into the rear windshield of a vehicle.
Later, the officer said a witness reported the suspect, a man, threatened to kill another man while holding the knife. The suspect, however, did not swing the knife at the victim and was only holding it, the officer said. The amount of money was not $3 but $20, the officer reported later.

Other witnesses offered the same story, another officer told dispatch. The suspect reportedly fled the area before police arrived.
“(An officer) is getting a lot of good information over here as far as who we might have as a suspect,” an officer said to others.

One of the callers reporting the incident was a woman with an electronic bench warrant for $100 cash for nonappearance in court on a charge of theft by unauthorized taking, according to police dispatch. A watch commander told officers to get as much information as possible about the threat incident first and not worry about the warrant arrest right away.
Around 1 a.m., the caller was arrested and taken straight to the Merrimack County Jail since she did not have the $100 cash required with the warrant.
Around 1:15 a.m., an officer and the watch commander began discussing whether to call in the K-9 unit to assist with the search for the suspect. The K-9 unit, “Charlie,” was deployed around 1:45 a.m. for about 15 minutes, according to scanner chatter.
The camp, where a stillborn baby was delivered back in January, has been growing en masse in recent months. The 10-plus-acre parcel, which is zoned as a Gateway Performance District, was at some point slated to be a new gas station. It is owned by Sunoco Retail LLC, based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, according to city records.
