A Frost Advisory has been issued for Thursday night in several counties as New Jersey prepares for a chillier stretch, according to the latest forecast.

The advisories are in place where the growing season is still active - western Monmouth, Mercer, Salem, Gloucester, Burlington, Ocean, Cumberland and Atlantic counties - from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. Friday. Cape May County is the only exception. The growing season has already ending in most of North Jersey, so no advisories are in place there.

Seasonably chilly temperatures are in store for Thursday during the daytime with some breezy winds, National Weather Service forecasters said.

Friday and Saturday will be several degrees below normal, with highs in the upper 50s to around 60, according to the National Weather Service. More frost advisories may be issued where growing seasons are still active on these nights as well.

This will be followed by "tranquil, but seasonably chilly" through early next week, forecasters said. Some models indicate rain Tuesday and Wednesday, but there is still uncertainty. A clearer picture will develop as we get closer to these days.
