$1.3M Lottery Ticket Remains Unclaimed In Monmouth County

FREEHOLD, NJ — A Jersey Cash 5 jackpot ticket sold in Monmouth County and worth $1,300,245 remains unclaimed after almost a year and is close to expiring, NJ Lottery officials said Thursday.
The winning jackpot ticket was sold at the Wawa on 3303 Route 9 in Freehold. The jackpot was hit on Nov. 25, 2024, lottery officials said.
Winning NJ Lottery draw-game tickets remain valid from one year of their winning date.

“Players really should check their tickets,” NJ Lottery Executive Director James Carey said. “We have several ways our players can verify if they are winners. More than once, I’ve seen players come to us after a period of time, saying they won a prize after finding a misplaced ticket.”
Players with a stash of old lottery tickets should note recent history, officials said.

In May, a Mercer County player uncovered a four-month-old Mega Millions ticket and realized it was worth $1 million after checking the numbers.
In Belleville, a $150,000 lottery ticket remains unclaimed alongside a $50,000 Powerball ticket sold in Paramus.
Players can scan their tickets at any NJ Lottery retailer, online, or through the NJ Lottery App.
