MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ — The autumnal equinox on Monday, Sept. 22, signals the official arrival of fall, but the season is already in full swing in Monmouth County with events such as corn mazes, hayrides, fall festivals and more planned around the area.
Sunny days and crisp evenings are perfect for outdoor fun. Some can’t-miss events in Monmouth County are the Harvest Home Festival, Red Bank Oktoberfest, Freehold Borough’s Haunted Hayride and the Haunted Theater at Brookdale Community College.
But that’s just the beginning of fun activities taking place over the next couple of months.

- Art In The Park Festival

- Details: Enjoy special attractions, musical acts, cultural offerings, Latin American cuisine and more at the Latino Festival of Monmouth County.
- Harvest Home Festival
- Date: Sunday, Sept. 28
- Location: Historic Longstreet Farm (44 Longstreet Road, Holmdel)
- Details: At this old-fashioned fair, attendees will be able to enjoy wagon rides, craft demonstrations, live entertainment and more.
- Mater Dei Park’s 1st Annual Fall Concert & Festival
- Date: Sunday, Sept. 28
- Location: Mater Dei Park (Cherry Tree Farm Road, Middletown)
- Details: Enjoy an afternoon of live music, local food vendors, shopping and more while supporting youth scholarships in Monmouth County at Mater Dei Park’s first annual Fall Concert & Festival. Tickets required.
- Matawan Day Fall Festival
- Date: Saturday, Oct. 4
- Location: From Terhune Park to Hourihan Field
- Details: Get ready for a day filled with live music and entertainment, games, activities, food trucks and more at the 2025 Matawan Day Fall Festival.
- Red Bank Oktoberfest
- Date: Saturday, Oct. 11
- Location: Edmund Wilson Plaza (West Side of Downtown Red Bank)
- Details: Taste beer, wine, spirits and food, while enjoying a craft vendor market, live music, a kids zone and more. Admission is free, though tasters 21+ can buy tasting packages.
- Fall Taste Of Highlands
- Date: Saturday, Oct. 11
- Location: Huddy Park (329 Bay Avenue, Highlands)
- Details: The annual Fall Taste of Highlands event will feature a fall theme with five hours of food samplings and cocktails from 18 restaurants and retailers. Tickets required.
Corn Mazes & Hayrides
- Fall Festivities Hayride
- Dates: Sept. 13 to Mid-November
- Location: Stone Tavern Orchards (73 Rues Road, Cream Ridge)
- Details: Take a hayride to Stone Tavern Orchards’ pumpkin patch, orchards, corn maze and more during the autumn season. Tickets are required and purchasable at the farm.
- Haunted Hayride
- Date: Sunday, Oct. 19
- Location: Wells Fargo Parking Lot (72 West Main Street, Freehold)
- Details: Take part in a Freehold Borough Halloween tradition with the Haunted Hayride, where members of the local community and neighboring towns come together to haunt along the hayride route or act out live spooky scenes.
- Corn Maze
- Date: Throughout October
- Location: Happy Day Farm (106 Iron Ore Road, Manalapan)
- Details: Check out Happy Day Farm’s corn maze and maze activities throughout October. Tickets sold at the door.
Halloween Events
- The Wag’s Halloween Spectacular
- Date: Saturday, Oct. 4
- Location: Middletown Arts Center (36 Church Street, Middletown)
- Details: Enjoy Halloween-themed songs, dance numbers, comedy sketches and more at The Wag’s Halloween Spectacular at the Middletown Arts Center. Tickets required.
- Mr. Mike’s Drawing Spooktacular
- Date: Sunday, Oct. 5
- Location: The Vogel (99 Monmouth Street, Red Bank)
- Details: Join the Vogel for a celebration of Mr. Mike’s latest picture book, “Leonard Builds a Haunted House.” Audience members will be able to dive into the creative process behind the tale. Tickets required.
- Brookdale’s Haunted Theater
- Dates: Oct. 10-12, 17-19, 24-26, 30 & Nov. 1-2
- Location: Brookdale Community College (765 Newman Springs Rd., Lincroft)
- Details: Take a self-guided walk through Brookdale’s haunted house maze, which is designed, built and operated by over 100 Brookdale Community College students, staff, faculty, alumni and community members. Attendees will be able to check out themed mazes, pitch black zones, special effects and more. Tickets required.
- Aberdeen Trunk Or Treat
- Date: Sunday, Oct. 19
- Location: Matawan Regional High School (450 Atlantic Avenue, Aberdeen)
- Details: Enjoy music, vendors, hayrides, attractions and more at the Aberdeen Police PBA’s Trunk or Treat event.
- Trick Or Treat Around The Park
- Date: Friday, Oct. 24
- Location: iPlay America (110 Schanck Road, Freehold)
- Details: Join iPlay America for a free night of “spooktacular” fun with their trick or treat trail, costume contest, giveaways and more.
- All Hallows Eve Along Burlington Path
- Date: Saturday, Oct. 25
- Location: Colts Neck Firehouse #1
- Details: Check out a Halloween shop and refreshments, hayrides, a pumpkin patch where you can pick your own pumpkin, face painting and more at The Colts Neck Historical Preservation Committee's "All Hallows Eve Along Burlington Path." Admission is $10 per adult, $5 per child, and free for kids two and under. Cash only.
- Halloween Spooktacular Costume Parade
- Date: Sunday, Oct. 26
- Location: Main Street (Freehold Borough)
- Details: Walk in the Halloween Spooktacular Costume Parade in your best Halloween costume, or watch from the sidelines and enjoy the parade from Main Street this fall. Complimentary refreshments will be offered in the Hall of Records parking lot after the parade.
- Mad Science Halloween Event
- Date: Wednesday, Oct. 29
- Location: Howell Branch of the Monmouth County Library (318 Old Tavern Road, Howell)
- Details: Join the Howell Branch of the Monmouth County Library for a family-friendly, Halloween-themed science show. No registration required.
