Power Summit: Unleashing The Power of Your Vote
The LWV is co-sponsoring "Power Summit: Unleashing the Power of Your Vote" at The Warner Student Center at Brookdale on Sept. 27 from 9-3.

The League of Women Voters of Monmouth County (LWV Monmouth) is co-sponsoring “Power Summit: Unleashing the Power of Your Vote,” on Saturday, September 27, 2025, 9 am – 3 pm, at the Warner Student Life Center, Brookdale Community College, Lincroft, NJ. This nonpartisan, free event is focused on voter education and civic engagement, and lunch will be provided for participants.
“LWV Monmouth is pleased to be a co-sponsor of this initiative,” said Evelyn C. Murphy, PhD, president, LWV Monmouth. “Our mission is to empower voters and defend democracy and this event encourages voters to be informed and actively participate in government.”
The summit has two learning tracks: one for adults and one for youth (ages 13–17, with parental permission). All participants will have the opportunity to attend interactive workshops that tackle real-world issues and learn strategies to move solutions forward. Additionally, attendees will learn about Monmouth County municipal structures and officials’ roles and responsibilities.

The summit will demystify how local government works in Monmouth County and equip residents with tools to participate effectively.
“Local decisions shape our daily lives—from schools and public safety to transportation and housing. This summit turns civic curiosity into civic power,” said Courteney Wilds, Executive Director. “Participants will leave with a clear understanding of how municipalities are structured, who does what, and how to engage constructively to get things done.”
