STEAM represents Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. These subjects, integrated with the Science of Reading and Lexia Learning, enhance students' abilities to engage in hands-on and project-based learning through improved reading comprehension and verbal language expression.

The Director of Education for the Four Rivers STEAM Charter School, Dr. Carole B. Reiss is directly engaging with the Freehold Borough and Freehold Township Parents to focus on the needs of this community that has overlooked the potential from students whose first language is not English. This has created an enormous Achievement Gap that has caused Freehold Test Scores to plummet. This results in forcing students who live in the Borough to lack the skills needed to escape poverty and live a lifestyle with low income and limited academic achievement for this community.

To address the issue of minority students not achieving high levels, our program integrates literacy with the development of personal skills that support collaboration and critical thinking among learners of all abilities.

The Four Rivers STEAM Charter School is a K-8 school. We open with grades K-2 and grade 6. Each year, the school advances each grade until the maximum grade is reached. Students are admitted through a Lottery, but parents can apply for the lottery through our Petition. We will accept 300 students in year 1, and 72 students will be added each year in grade K. We set aside 2 classes for our special populations with no more than 12 students in each class.

After years 4 the 5th grade will then become grade 6 with all Middle School seats filled at that time.

Freehold has in the past supported independent schools such as the BioTech High School which is the leading independent STEM High School in Monmouth County. Independent Charter Schools are the top of the line programs for the 21st Century. They work hard to develop professional training for their teachers so that they perform creatively in the classroom by using innovative but well developed curriculum designed for the students that they serve. We teach your child, with their needs in mind, not a generalized curriculum approach. We know the tired District methods do not work for all learners. Our teachers are evaluated on their abilities to create Learning For Success Plans for Every Child!

Yes, we are different - better and hyper focused on your child! You will love being a part of this soaring success model of Teaching and Learning that will give Freehold students the abilities they need to perform greatness in their community.
