These Monmouth County Schools Ranked Among Best Public High Schools In NJ

To compile their rankings, Niche evaluated over 93,000 public high schools nationwide. See which Monmouth County schools made the list:

MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ — Several Monmouth County schools have been ranked among some of the best public high schools in New Jersey, according to a new report from Niche.

In the 2026 Best Public High Schools In America ranking, Niche evaluated over 93,000 public high schools nationwide.

Now in its 11th year, Niche said their rankings differ from others that rely almost exclusively on test scores and academic performance.

According to Niche, their rankings also include input from students, alumni, and parents, as well as quantitative data from sources like the U.S. Department of Education to evaluate teachers, resources, and facilities.

The Monmouth County high schools that were ranked among New Jersey’s top 50 public high schools include:

  • #4: High Technology High School (Lincroft)
  • #8: Biotechnology High School (Freehold)
  • #23: Marine Academy of Science & Technology (Middletown)
  • #26: Academy of Allied Health & Science (Neptune)
  • #32: Communications High School (Wall)
  • #37: Rumson-Fair Haven High School (Rumson)
  • #50: Holmdel Township High School (Holmdel)

Five of the Monmouth County schools included in the rankings of NJ’s best public high schools are part of the Monmouth County Vocational School District, which is comprised of six full-time, four-year career academies.

Rumson-Fair Haven High School and Holmdel Township High School are not included in the Vocational School District, and are each public schools serving students in Rumson, Fair Haven and Holmdel.

According to Niche, the top five public high schools in America are:

  1. North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics
  2. The Davidson Academy (Nevada)
  3. Massachusetts Academy for Math & Science
  4. South Carolina Governor’s School for Science & Mathematics
  5. Stuyvesant High School (New York)
