‘We’ve Made Great Bowling Memories’: Bowlero Hazlet Closes

HAZLET, NJ — Bowlero Hazlet has officially closed, the bowling alley announced on Thursday.
Located off NJ-36, Bowlero Hazlet has served as a go-to location for bowling, parties, drinks and more over the years in the Hazlet community.
On Thursday, the bowling alley took to Facebook to announce its official closure and thanked patrons for their support over the years.

“We’re sorry to say that Bowlero Hazlet has closed,” the announcement said. “We have deeply appreciated your patronage and support over the years. We’ve made great bowling memories together, and we would like to continue to do so by inviting you to bowl with us at AMF Bowling Co. Strathmore Lanes.”
While the post did not include a reason for the bowling alley's closure, a Bowlero Hazlet spokesperson told Patch that the lease had ended on the Hazlet location.

Going forward, Bowlero is welcoming guests to their newly renovated AMF Strathmore Lanes location, which is about 15 minutes away in the Aberdeen Town Square Center.
According to Bowlero officials, the Strathmore Lanes location offers bowling in a space “perfectly suited for both league play and special events,” with lanes available all season long.
"In addition to bowling and the arcade that you loved so much at Bowlero Hazlet, you still have great features waiting for you!" officials said.
In the comment section of Bowlero Hazlet’s post, many expressed their gratitude for the Hazlet bowling location and spoke of the memories made there over the years.
“Thank you for the lifetime of memories,” one user wrote. “I, for one, will miss this place.”
“So sorry to see you go!!” another user wrote. “We have MANY great memories.”
As of Wednesday afternoon, Town Public Information Officer Christina Johnson told Patch that Hazlet Town Hall has not received anything official about a change of use at the Bowlero Hazlet location.
