New Wine Bar From Monkey Thief Team Opens In Hell’s Kitchen
"You'll never leave without discovering something new and different," the owner told Patch.

HELL’S KITCHEN, NY — Same Same, a new wine bar, has opened in Hell's Kitchen, bringing a cozy and inviting spot for wine, cocktails, and shareable plates to the neighborhood.
The bar, which opened this week on West 47th Street between Ninth and Tenth avenues comes from the team behind the cocktail bars Monkey Thief and Sama Street — Avi Singh, Rishi Rajpal, and David Muhs.
Wine director Olivia Moran, previously of Lysée and Nura, curates a rotating selection of six wines by the glass, displayed on a brown paper scroll beside the bar. The list changes weekly to highlight emerging regions and small, independent producers, with a focus on high-acid, food-friendly wines, the owners said.

"We see it as a wine bar for those in the know and for those who know nothing about wine, but want to drink something delicious," Muhs told Patch of the new bar. "We will continue to bring our signature fun, vibrant atmosphere which makes this the perfect place to bring a date, celebrate with family or meet up with friends."
The cocktail program, created by Muhs, emphasizes low-ABV, aperitivo-style drinks such as the "Peter Piper Martini" with pickled peppers and sudachi, the "Americano" with strawberry aperitivo and green pepper, and "The Espresso Drink" made with coffee shochu and a biscoff cookie garnish.

In the kitchen, Chef David Sullivan — formerly of Ai Fiori and Manhatta — offers a shareable menu designed to complement the drinks.
"All the playfully tasty dishes are built to be shared with friends," Muhs said.
Dishes include oysters topped with mezcal granita, shrimp toast made with brioche, yuzu kosho, and makrut lime leaf, and cavatelli in a lightly spiced tomato sauce with shrimp and bomba calabrese.
"At Same Same you’ll always find something familiar, but you’ll never leave without discovering something new and different," Muhs told Patch.
Same Same is now open in Hell’s Kitchen, located at 401 W. 47th St.
