Man, 20, Arrested For Part In Illegal Street Racing Incident In Port Jefferson In August: Police
He was taken into custody by the county's Street Takeover Task Force on Saturday and his vehicle impounded, Suffolk police say.

PORT JEFFERSON, NY — A man who took part in an illegal speed racing contest in August in Port Jefferson was arrested over the weekend, Suffolk police said.
Two vehicles were seen performing donuts and burnouts at the intersection of West Broadway and Main Street before speeding away on Aug. 26 at just before 11 p.m., police said, adding that after an investigation by the 6th Precinct Investigative Unit in conjunction with the Street Takeover Task Force, and a 20-year-old from Middle Island was identified as one of the drivers.
He was found while in his vehicle on Nesconset Highway in Terryville and taken into custody by members of the task force on Saturday at around 9:25 p.m., according to police.

The man was charged unlawful speed contest/sideshow and reckless endangerment, and his vehicle, a 2010 Ford Crown Victoria, was seized, police said.
It was not immediately clear if he has legal representation.

He will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.
