NYS Assemblyman Ed Flood Disbarred, Still Seeking Re-Election
Flood's counsel says he is "confident" the matter will be resolved. Flood is running for NYS Assembly District 4.
SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — Edward Flood, a New York state assemblyman representing the fourth district, was disbarred as an attorney in connection with alleged actions he took while representing a client in his private law practice, Brooklyn state appellate judges ruled Wednesday, Newsday reported.
Flood, a Republican looking for his second two-year term in the state legislature, told Newsday he plans to remain in the race and said there was "no admission of guilt in any way," adding he gave all the money back to a "disgruntled client."
"In reference to the matter regarding Ed Flood, it is essential to recognize that there has been absolutely no finding of fault," Steven Losquadro, Flood's counsel, told Patch in a statement. "Instead, this is simply a matter of paperwork that must be addressed, and we are in the process of forwarding all necessary and relevant documents. We are confident that this matter will be appropriately resolved."
