Classic Holiday Films To Roll At Historic Newtown Theatre
This year's lineup includes something for everyone, including all-time classics and family favorites.

NEWTOWN, Pa. — Screening classic holiday movies every December is a tradition that dates back decades at the historic Newtown Theatre. This year’s lineup includes something for everyone, including all-time classics such as “It’s a Wonderful Life” and “White Christmas” and family favorites like “Home Alone” and “The Muppet Christmas Carol.”
“You can watch many of these movies on TV at home, of course, but nothing gets you in the holiday spirit like sharing the experience with a theater full of people who are laughing, smiling, clapping, singing and sometimes crying along with you,” says Andrew Smith, executive director of the Newtown Theatre.
Tickets for every movie can be found at TheNewtownTheatre.com or at the box office starting 30 minutes before the movie (if not sold out, tickets are selling quickly online). This year’s lineup of holiday films include:

- “The Muppet Christmas Carol” – Sunday, December 7 at 9:00 a.m. In loving memory of Judy Jarrell.
- “The Bells of St. Mary’s” – Tuesday, December 9 at 3:00 p.m. Sponsored by Attleboro Wealth Management.
- “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” – Tuesday, December 9 at 7:30 p.m. Sponsored by Attleboro Wealth Management.
- “March of the Wooden Soldiers” with Laurel and Hardy – Wednesday, December 10 at 7:30 p.m.

- “Elf…for Grownups” – Saturday, December 13. Only elves 21 and older will be admitted. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the movie begins at 8:00 p.m. In the hour leading up to the movie, guests will enjoy one complimentary drink, free popcorn, a trivia contest, and a costume contest. Elf-themed prizes will be given for trivia winners, and the best-dressed elf will win a pair of free concert tickets. Tickets are only available online at TheNewtownTheatre.com .
