Explore the role of caregiver and changes they may experience, building a support team and managing caregiver stress. Health educators Ellie and Angelica, with the Freehold Area Health Department, will provide an introduction highlighting their role serving as liaisons, and connecting the community to local healthy aging resources. Enjoy a self-care activity for care-givers.
About the presenters: 
Angelica Espinal-Garcia, MPH, MCHES, is a Health Educator at the Freehold Area Health Department, a position she has held since March 2018. Prior to her work at the Department, Angelica worked at Casa Freehold, a community-based organization providing health education and connecting residents to healthcare and social services for 8 years. She currently is a Board member of Neighborhood Connections to Health (NCTH), member of the CentraState Diversity, Equity, &amp; Inclusion Committee and Past Board President of Casa Freehold. Public health is her passion, and she advocates for health equity through community empowerment and community building. Offering QPR training in both English and Spanish, is a key strategy in her goal of empowering individuals to help improve the mental health equity of youth and adults in the community. Angelica holds a Master of Public Health from Rutgers, School of Public Health.
Ellie McCreesh, MPH, CHES, is a Health Educator at the Freehold Area Health Department, a role she began in July 2025. Prior to her work here, Ellie served as the Associate Program Manager for the NJ YMCA State Alliance, providing technical assistance to NJ SNAP Educators and supporting local YMCAs to implement chronic disease prevention and food access related programs. Ellie, a trained instructor in both Youth and Adult Mental Health First Aid, is passionate about the power of social connection as a protective factor against negative health outcomes. Ellie holds a Master of Public Health from The College of New Jersey, School of Public Health.
The Alzheimer's Association Greater New Jersey Chapter is part of the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support, and research. They provide care and support for all those affected by Alzheimer’s and all other dementia, as well as education programs for the general public. The Alzheimer's Association Greater New Jersey Chapter supports fourteen counties in Central and Northern New Jersey, including Monmouth County.
