This month's lecture, 'The Link: Four Score and Seven Years Ago,'&nbsp;explains how Abraham Lincoln managed to reconnect the United States to the Declaration of Independence which he considered to be America’s true founding document. Lincoln was able to paint Jefferson’s Declaration as some form of American scripture that promised humanity a fair and equal chance to pursue happiness. For Lincoln, the Declaration represented a higher law than even the Constitution of the United States.&nbsp;&nbsp;
