Last year marked the 40th anniversary of The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain, who, from their humble beginnings in small rooms above old pubs, took the world by storm with their off-beat humor and four-stringed virtuosity. Against the odds, ‘The Ukes’ soon became the unlikely superheroes of the international touring circuit, spreading their irrepressible magic from Australasia to the North Pole, from Windsor Castle to Carnegie Hall. After 40 years, The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain is still thrilling audiences with their all-singing, all-strumming, full throttle, foot-stomping concerts. From the bombastic and epic to the folky and mystical, Get the Led Out has captured the essence of Led Zeppelin’s music and brought it to the concert stage. The Philadelphia-based group consists of six veteran musicians who are intent on bringing the studio recordings of “The Mighty Zep” to life. This is not an impersonator act but rather a group of musicians who were fans first, striving to do justice to one of the greatest bands in rock history.

Join us at the Stars of Harford Gala on Friday, April 24 at 7 PM in Harford Community College’s Chesapeake Welcome Center, where we will be celebrating the Harford Dance Theatre’s and Phoenix Festival Theater’s past, present, and future productions. This will be a dress-your-best gala event with music, dancing, cash bar, selfie station, hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and more.
