New Milford Sports Awards Banquet

On Tuesday, June 7th, 2011 the athletes of New Milford High School were honored at the annual sports awards banquet in Norwood, NJ.  The Colonial Inn was the site of the dinner hosted by the New Milford Athletic Boosters.  The NM boosters sponsored ten scholarships for student athletes.   It was a great night for many senior athletes including Vanessa Vargas and John Follety who each received Athlete of the year honors.  Meredith McCann and Ryan Bigger were named Scholar Athletes of the Year. 

WFAN's John Minko was the emcee of the evening.  The long time New Milford resident ran the show flawlessly.  Each coach of their respective sport was interviewed allowing for parents to hear the accomplishments of their children.  The girls basketball team was the team highlight of the night after bringing home the league championship this past winter.  there were also 15 school records tied or broken. All and all it was a successful night for the young athletes of New Milford High School.
