19-Year-Old Stabbed In Fist Fight At Restaurant On Main Street In Sayville: Police

UPDATE: A 23-year-old Sayville resident has been arrested for assault and weapon possession, Suffolk police say.

SAYVILLE, NY β€” A 19-year-old man was stabbed, and another was hurt in a fight at a restaurant in Sayville early this morning, Suffolk police said.

Two men, Aaron Gonzalez and a 19-year-old, got into a fist fight inside the restaurant, which is located on South Main Street, at around 1:10 a.m., and Gonzalez pulled a knife and stabbed the 19-year-old twice, according to police.

The man was taken to an area hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Gonzalez, of Sayville, was taken by private vehicle to NYU Langone Hospital - Suffolk in East Patchogue for treatment of minor injuries sustained during the fight, according to police.

He has been arrested and charged with second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

He will be held overnight in the Sixth Precinct for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on Saturday.
