Man Who Killed Girlfriend In Cedar Park Sentenced To 40 Years In Prison

Adam Solis previously pleaded guilty to the murder of Katie Eager, 24, who was a manager at Alamo Drafthouse Lakeline.

CEDAR PARK, TX — Adam Solis, the man who fatally shot his girlfriend last year at the apartment they shared, was sentenced to 40 years in prison on Monday after having pleaded guilty to the crime, according to a published report.

The Austin American-Statesman, reported Solis, 32, pleaded previously pleaded guilty on Nov. 9 to the murder of Katie Eager, 24. He'll be credited with 629 days already served, according to the plea agreement released Monday. Solis was accused of having shot Eager multiple times at an apartment along South Lakeline Boulevard in February of last year.

Solis fled to his parents' home in San Antonio after the murder, waiting to call police after returning to the apartment the next day. Before his arrest, he posted on Facebook to chide his neighbors for not calling 911 after having heard gunshots emaante from the apartment, as he posed as a distraught boyfriend.

According to police, the couple had argued before Eager was shot to death — possibly a fight over finances exacerbated by Solis's unemployment.

Eager was a manager at Alamo Drafthouse Lakeline. One year after her death, her former workplace screened the movie "Pineapple Express," Eager's favorite film, with proceeds benefiting the Katie Eager Scholarship Fundcreated by co-workers and family members.
