TUSCALOOSA, AL — The threat of dangerous severe weather is approaching the Tuscaloosa Patch coverage area, with storms bringing the potential for damaging hail, strong winds and long-track tornados.

ACTIVE WATCHES/WARNINGS

  • A Tornado Warning has been issued for Tuscaloosa County until 4:30 p.m. The current track shows the storm could impact the Lake Tuscaloosa, Northport and Samantha areas.
  • A Tornado Watch has been issued for Tuscaloosa County until 8 p.m.
  • Tuscaloosa County is under a Wind Advisory until 1 a.m. Sunday

  • Alabama Power reports 1,387 customers without power in Tuscaloosa County as of 6:15 p.m.

STORM DAMAGE/HAZARDS

  • The City of Gordo has reported extensive storm damage and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says impacts in Pickens County include U.S. Highway, U.S. Highway 86, Alabama Highwsay 159, and Pickens County Road 16. All have experienced fallen trees and debris on the roadway, with emergency crews working to clear the roadways.
  • Tuscaloosa County EMA is reporting tree damage on Tierce Patton Road in the area of Lake Tuscaloosa.
  • There was roof damage and other property damage at Pier 43 marina on Lake Tuscaloosa (Pictured below)
