The shooting happened around 10 p.m. Video posted by the Department of Homeland Security on Wednesday appears to show someone in a U-Haul truck in a small standoff with officers on a bridge leading towards the Coast Guard base.

Officers then shoot a barrage of bullets at the truck, which can then be seen speeding off. No Coast Guard personnel or law enforcement were injured in the process, according to DHS.

The shooting came hours after people took to the base in Alameda to protest Donald Trump's decision to deploy federal agents in San Francisco. Agents who arrived Thursday morning at the base were met by hundreds of protesters.

Later that morning, San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie announced that Trump had called off his decision to deploy federal forces into the Bay Area.
