• Nearly 3,000 homes lose power near Portola Valley (rwcpulse.com) — More than 2,700 residents in central Portola Valley, Ladera, Portola Valley Ranch and La Honda briefly lost power Monday night after an underground equipment issue near a Menlo Park PG&E substation. Crews fixed the problem within about 30 minutes, restoring electricity by 8:45 p.m., well ahead of the original 2:30 a.m. estimate.
