ā¢ Solvang Council Debates Ethics of Mayor's App Venture (noozhawk.com) ā Solvangās City Council is wrestling with ethical questions surrounding Mayor David Brownās tourism app, Solvang Passport, including its use of city-funded marketing materials and access to public data. Councilmembers debated cease-and-desist options, conflicts of interest, and updates to ethics rules, and will revisit intellectual property protections and policy changes at their April 13 meeting at City Hall.

ā¢ Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians donates $93K to SB County schools for technology (syvnews.com) ā Solvang School District is receiving $6,029 from the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians to upgrade its interactive whiteboards, part of more than $93,000 in tech grants to county schools. Several nearby Santa Ynez Valley campuses are also getting new Chromebooks, smartboards, and other digital tools, and applications for the next round of grants are due April 30. Ā Ā Ā
