B4BC Celebrates Breast Cancer Survivors and Thrivers with Blues & BBQ

Event advanced the non-profit's mission by providing survivor support through the wellness retreat and celebration

Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC) is proud to announce that the Blues & BBQ for B4BC Event last weekend advanced the non-profit’s mission by providing survivor support through the retreat and event with more than 75 guests, expanding B4BC awareness in the Colorado Front Range and raising more than $10,000 at the event. Through the event’s promotion across media, including television, radio, web and social, the total audience reach was more than 1 million, further shining light on the nonprofit and its mission.

Guests sipped on cocktails as they listened to the smooth tunes of Kory Montgomery and later enjoyed fresh, delicious meals prepared by Traeger Grills’ premier chefs Amanda Haas and Austen Granger. A highlight of the night was the live art on a YETI cooler painted by street muralist and snowboarder Pat Milbery, which was auctioned off to raise funds for the charity. Later, they grooved to the funky music of Eddie Roberts and The Lucky Strokes during a live performance under the stars at State Bridge (pictured below).

“This event was so special, and it was an unforgettable experience to recognize these powerful women and feel the love and connection to the community in the Rocky Mountains and the surrounding nature of State Bridge,” Megan Pischke, B4BC’s Wellness + Marketing Director. “We are grateful to everyone involved! Raising awareness for the organization and bringing more people into the B4BC community will help us spread the word and provide support so that we can make a difference.”

Attendees noted that it was a very special experience seeing the impact the event had on thrivers and that getting to partake in it was extraordinary. Supporters have more to look forward to as well, with B4BC’s Skate the Lake 2023 and Skate the Coast 2023 slated to take place later this year and for the organization to continue sharing its message of breast cancer awareness, prevention, and education.
