Bridgeport Teen Arrested In Connection With Vehicle Theft, Shooting: Greenwich Police

Greenwich police said they responded to a report of a motor vehicle theft and an injured resident in the early morning hours of Sept. 23.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A Bridgeport teenager was arrested Wednesday in connection with the early-morning motor vehicle theft and shooting that injured a resident in Greenwich, according to police.

Jayden Ganthier, 18, was served with a felony arrest warrant that charges him with commission of a Class A, B, or C felony with a firearm; first-degree larceny; illegal discharge of a firearm; illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle; first-degree robbery; first-degree assault; illegal alteration of a firearm; and first-degree reckless endangerment.

On Sept. 23 at approximately 4:55 a.m., officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle theft and an injured resident on the west side of town.

Police said one of the suspects fired a weapon after they were confronted by the resident, who suffered minor injuries to his lower extremities.

The stolen vehicle was later located in Bridgeport with help from the Bridgeport Police Department.

During a follow-up investigation, officers recovered a firearm, a shell casing, and "other related evidence," police said.

Ganthier was arrested at his home on Wednesday, police said.

"We would like to thank all the area residents for providing information and assistance with this investigation," police said.

Police have not released information on additional suspects.
