• Town Investigating 4 Properties Related to Recent Fish Kill - Beach Talk Radio News (beachtalkradionews.com) — Town officials are actively investigating four vacant properties near Buccaneer Lagoon on the south end of Fort Myers Beach after a localized fish kill tied to low oxygen levels. Environmental staff suspect runoff from nearby land, and code enforcement may even need boat access to document possible pollution sources affecting local waters.
   

• New Fort Myers Beach Pier nears contract status (naplesnews.com) — A long-awaited replacement for the Fort Myers Beach pier is close to reality, with Lee County commissioners set to vote April 7 on an $11.8 million construction contract. The new pier at Lynn Hall Park would stretch 1,000 feet into the Gulf, be significantly wider, and take about 18 months to build using tourist tax and state emergency funds.
