• Annexation request leads to police jurisdictional questions (lagrangenews.com) — LaGrange officials are weighing a request to annex 2289 West Point Road so a food truck court, and eventually a brick‑and‑mortar restaurant, can be built there. Council members say bringing this stretch fully into the city could ease confusing police and fire jurisdiction issues, but sewer costs and soil concerns have stalled other nearby projects.
   

• LaGrange middle school teacher named Troup County Teacher of the Year (wrbl.com) — A Gardner Newman Middle School special education teacher in LaGrange has been named the Troup County School System’s 2026-2027 Teacher of the Year, with the announcement made at a recent reception. She’ll now represent the district in Georgia’s statewide competition, while other Troup County and LaGrange-area teachers were honored as finalists and runner-up for their classroom excellence.
   

• Stephenson gets first wrestling gold (thechampionnewspaper.com) — A standout Stephenson High wrestler earned a state title after a hard-fought semifinal win over LaGrange’s Mason Boykin in the Class 3A 175-pound bracket. The match at the GHSA State Championships saw Boykin build an early lead before Stephenson’s Badesire Lubala stormed back, then go on to secure the Jaguars’ first-ever wrestling gold medal.
