• Jones Co. teacher with ‘fierce commitment' named GA Teacher of the Year finalist (macon.com) — A Jones County educator has been named one of ten finalists for the 2027 Georgia Teacher of the Year, and Metter is represented too. Metter High School’s Victor Fordham is among the finalists, putting Candler County on the statewide education map. The winner will be chosen after interviews and speeches, with an announcement expected in May.
