ā¢ GSW Hosts Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, Awards Top Student Ventures (albanyceo.com) ā A Vienna student, Milced Velasquez, helped lead La Ruta CafĆ© to a top award at Georgia Southwestern State Universityās first Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. Their mobile specialty coffee camper now advances to a statewide pitch contest in early April, where theyāll compete for larger cash prizes, mentorship, and access to business accelerators.

ā¢ Tyson Foods to close a food plant in Georgia (talkbusiness.net) ā Tyson Foods is closing a small prepared foods plant in Rome, Georgia this September, affecting 86 workers, after previously selling its poultry plant and complex in Vienna in 2024. The company says itās consolidating operations into newer facilities in Tennessee and Virginia and is encouraging affected employees to seek other roles within Tyson during the transition. Ā Ā Ā
