Papel Arcano—Elmhurst’s New Haven for Notebooks, Pens & Paper Magic

Papel Arcano has officially opened its doors in York Plaza—and we’re ready to help journalers and papyrophiles turn every blank page in DuPage County into a masterpiece.

Owned by local resident Jack Saucedo (Latine & LGBTQ+), Papel Arcano is part unique stationery and journaling shop, part creative clubhouse and inclusive third space. Step inside and you’ll find:

• Japanese and South Korean stationery favorites—planners, journals, notebooks, pens, and art supplies from favorite brands like Midori, Kokuyo, Tombow, and more.

• Indie goods—sticker sheets from small and independent artists, planner decorations and ephemera, small-batch sticker sheets, locally made greeting cards.

• Journaling and planner accessories—pen and storage cases, sticker organization, journaling stencils, planner inserts, wax seals, bookmarks, and washi tape galore.

• Pen Tester Bar—test pens and inks before you buy.

• Workshops & meet-ups—Journaling meet-ups every other month, with other workshops and events coming soon!

• Community space—free, always-open journaling corner with journaling supplies and a destash space to leave free supplies for other journalers or bring home free supplies that have been donated by others. 

“Stationery should feel like tiny everyday magic,” says Saucedo. “We stock tools that spark joy—then give you a welcoming space to use them.”
