Caton Farm and County Line Road Driver Nods Off Behind The Wheel: Joliet Police Take Her Away In Handcuffs

JOLIET, IL —A 26-year-old Plainfield woman who had too much alcohol to drink last weekend fell asleep behind the wheel of her car at one of Joliet's busy intersections, according to Joliet police arrest reports.
According to police spokesman Dwayne English, at 3:09 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to the intersection of County Line Road and Caton Farm Road after a passerby reported a woman asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle stopped in the roadway. Joliet Fire Department personnel arrived first and observed the vehicle running, in drive, and blocking traffic in the intersection.
The driver, identified as Vianey Gamino, was awakened and the vehicle was secured, English said.

While speaking to officers, Gamino showed signs of alcohol impairment. She refused to perform field sobriety tests and was placed into custody. It is alleged that Gamino kicked an officer while being secured in a squad car, English revealed.
Gamino was charged with DUI and aggravated battery to a Peace Officer. She was also cited for illegal stopping/standing and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

She was processed at the Joliet Police Department and released on a notice to appear in court.
