JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Police Department was quite busy last weekend and one of their cases involved the arrest of 34-year-old Brandon Parker on charges of reckless driver and other offenses following a hit-and-run collision in downtown Joliet.
According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, at 10:25 p.m. on Saturday, officers responded to the intersection of Jefferson Street and Ottawa Street for a crash. The officers located a Ford Ranger and Jeep Cherokee, both with significant damage. The Jeep was unoccupied, and the driver was not on the scene.
English said the Jeep failed to obey the red stop light while southbound on Ottawa Street and struck a Ford Ranger that was eastbound Jefferson Street. The Jeep then struck a light pole.
